Doris E. Bowen, 93, of Bourne passed away Saturday, May 21 at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth. Mrs. Bowen was born in Boston the daughter of the late Fred and Cecilia M. (Saunders) Briggs. She attended Boston Public Schools, worked for many years as a clerk for the American Mutual Insurance Company in Brookline and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Onset.

Mrs. Bowen is survived by her children, Stacey Gaeta-Briggs and Ruth Saunders both of West Wareham and James R. Bowen of Florida. She was the grandmother of Paula and her husband Tom Holmes.
