Dr. Antone Dias, Jr., 62, also known as Tony, passed away peacefully at his home on June 2, in North Attleboro.

Tony was a professor of psychology at Framingham State University for 19 years. He also had a private practice in Milford.

Education was his passion. He was a graduate of Wareham High School. Tony received a B.A. from Boston University. He received his M.A. from Hunter College, and his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Tony also enjoyed teaching, cooking, traveling, and reading. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his son and three grandchildren. They were the love of his life.

He is survived by his son, David Peter Gomes of West Wareham; three grandchildren, Dana Gomes, Kaylee Schuchman-Gomes, and Darren Gomes all of Wareham; his only sister, Rosemarie Dias, and brother-in-law Cecil Johnson of Wareham; brother Michael Dias of Hyannis, and his brother Paul Roman Dias of Wareham. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Fran Dias of Mashpee. Tony was predeceased by his parents, Antone Dias, Sr. and Rose Marie (Babbitt) Dias. He was also predeceased by his brother, Norman Dias.
