Drug activity investigation leads to arrest
A ongoing investigation by Wareham police lead to the arrest of a 33-year-old East Wareham man. Courtney Jones, of 16 Plymouth Avenue in Shangri-La, is charged with possession with the intent to distribute a class b substance and a subsequent offense of possession of a class b substance, according to a statement released by Wareham Police.
At approximately 6:00 a.m. on July 20, Wareham detectives, patrol officers, K-9 officers, and a Barnstable County K-9 executed a search warrant of Jones’ home, according to a statement released by Wareham Police.
The residence was the target of ongoing illegal drug activity, the release stated. During the search, officers located four individual clear glassine baggies containing a total of approximately 2.0 grams of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine, and items commonly used in the drug dealing trade that included a digital scale, several loose clear corner cut baggies, and $900 in cash.
Jones was booked at the Wareham police station and transported to Wareham District Court for arraignment.
