Drug kiosk at Police Department now accepting unwanted medications

Nov 9, 2011

The Wareham Police Department obtained a new drug kiosk through a grant awarded to them and the Board of Health by the A.D. Makepeace Company, which will allow Wareham residents to drop off unwanted or unused medications so they can be disposed of properly. The kiosk is located in the public area of the Wareham Police Department at the entrance to the Records Department.

The drug kiosk is open to town residents only and will not accept drop offs from businesses. Any type of prescription medication will be accepted and residents do not have to show identification or fill out any forms. Needles and thermometers will not be accepted.

Unwanted medications can be deposed during the Records Department's hours of operation, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The program is one of the first of its kind in the Commonwealth.
