Drugs and cash recovered in East Wareham motel
Wareham Police found drugs and cash after executing a search warrant in a room at the Traveler's Choice Inn in East Wareham on Wednesday, April 11.
Police arrested 28-year-old Erin Morrissette and 30-year-old Jason Abbott in room number 8 at the inn after an investigation into the possession and distribution of illegal narcotics, according to a police statement.
Detectives found heroin valued at approximately $300, approximately $100 worth of suboxone, drug paraphernalia used in the distribution of narcotics, and cash in various areas of the room, police said.
Morrissette and Abbott are Wareham residents who listed the room as their address, police said.
Due to a pre-existing medical condition, Abbott will be summonsed to court along with Morissette, police said. Both are charged with possession of a "Class A" substance (heroin), possession with intent to distribute a "Class A" substance (heroin), and possession of a "Class B" substance (suboxone).
Police also arrested 31-year-old Rochester resident Jason Childs after a search of his person and vehicle produced 13 Clonazepam pills and 25 Oxycodone and hydrochloride Percocet pills, according to police.
Childs, of 9 Bennett Road in Rochester, was charged with possession of a "Class B" substance (opiates) and possession with intent to distribute a "Class B" substance (opiates). The "intent to distribute" is a subsequent offense for Childs, who appeared in Falmouth District Court in 1999 for a charge of distributing narcotics.
Childs was arraigned on April 12 in Wareham District Court.
