An East Wareham woman has collected a $1 million prize after purchasing on Oct. 17 a Powerball ticket from the Stop & Shop at 2991 Cranberry Highway.

Ilona McCahill picked up her winnings on Friday afternoon at Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Braintree. Her husband James was with her.

For selling the ticket, Stop & Shop in East Wareham will receive $10,000.

According to lottery officials, the couple plans to help family and donate to charity after the win.
