Eastern Bank donates $2,500 to the Onset Bay Association
Eastern Bank has again donated a portion of its net profit to the Onset Bay Association.
Eastern Bank's Branch Manager Martin Carabin presented the check for $2,500 to Kat Jones, the president of the Onset Bay Association, Wednesday afternoon in East Wareham.
Carabin said that the donation happily coincided with Eastern Bank's new "Join Us For Good" campaign. According to a press release, the campaign initiative is "to celebrate those who are making a difference...Eastern will shine a spotlight on stories of real people doing good in their communities."
"You do so much for the community, Kat," Carabin said. "I don't know how you do it."
"Eastern Bank has supported us for a long time," Jones told him. "We're happy recipients!"
The donated money comes from Eastern Bank's Charitable Foundation. According to Eastern Bank's website, 10 percent of Eastern Bank's net income is donated to nonprofit foundations every year.
Jones said that the donated money would be split between the Onset Blues Festival and Onset's Illumination Night, as usual. The Blues Festival will receive $1,000 and Illumination Night will receive $1,500.
Illumination Night will be held on Saturday, July 29, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The Onset Blues Festival will be held Saturday, Aug. 5 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
