Eleanor M. (Amado) Fernandes, 91, of Onset, died Nov. 10, at Royal Cape Cod Nursing Home in Buzzards Bay. She was the wife of the late Manuel G. Fernandes, Sr.

Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Martha (Williams) Amado. A longtime resident of Onset, Mrs. Fernandes worked as a housekeeper as well as at Ocean Spray Cranberries and the former Roland Thatcher Nursing Home.

She is survived by her children, Loretta M. (Andrade) Merritt of Buzzards Bay, Manuel G. Fernandes, Jr. and Valerie A. Moore both of Marietta, GA, Gerald A. Fernandes, Robert Fernandes, Sr., and George H. Fernandes all of Onset, and Daniel Fernandes of New Bedford; her sister, Dorothy Baguiell-Sheriff of Pawtucket, RI. She is also survived by 39 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings, the late Viola Maddox, Albert J. Saunders, and Lydia Huntley.
