Elementary students treated to showing of 'Santa Paws', complete with real puppy
The rainy weather outside could not put a damper on the Christmas spirit inside the Wareham High School auditorium on Friday, during family holiday movie night.
Mrs. Claus was in attendance as Christmas carols were sung before showtime. Guests were served cookies and hot cocoa.
"This event is the Wareham PTA's way of saying thanks," said association member Maritta Milne.
Donations of snacks were made by Lindsey's Restaurant and area Walmart, Shaws, and Stop and Shop.
Excited cheering met the darkness as opening credits rolled for "Santa Paws", this year's holiday movie. Children ranging from preschool to fourth grade were in attendance. During intermission, Mrs. Claus came on to the stage with special guest, a golden retriever named Santa Paws.
"I'm so excited to see the children of Wareham once again, especially now that I have Santa's favorite puppy with me," Mrs. Claus said.
Families posed with Santa Paws during intermission while everyone gathered for snacks.
