Elena M. (Terella) Gardyna, 82, of Wareham formerly of Cambridge died Wednesday, April 9 at Kindred Transitional Care at Forestview in Wareham. She was the wife of Henry Allan “Hank” Gardyna.

Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Nicolo and Angelina (Adei) Terella. A longtime resident of Cambridge, she moved to Wareham 12 years ago.

Gardyna was employed as purchasing agent for Harvard University in Cambridge. She was a member of the WYCA in Cambridge, the Christian Life Community and a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, JoAnne Ellison of Ayer and Elena Palmer of Sandown, NH; her brother Ralph Terella of Orange Co., Calif., and three grandchildren, Joseph Ellison, Alexandra McCusker and Nicholas Camaratta. She was predeceased by her daughter, the late Stephanie Gardyna and her brother, the late Louis Terella.

Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham on Mon., April 14 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at a later date. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
