Elizabeth O. Vieira, 91, of New Bedford formerly of Fairhaven and Wareham passed away recently. Mrs. Vieira was born on April 13, 1923 the daughter of the late Mitchel and Mary (Oliveira) Gomes. She attended New Bedford and Wareham public schools and Kenyon Business School.

Mrs. Vieira was employed by New Bedford City Hall working for Mayor Harrison; the Electric Light Co. on Acushnet Ave; Mr. and Mrs. Rogers at Caster Louise Tea Room on 6th St.; and the New Bedford Hotel. She later moved to Wareham and worked at the Mill Pond Diner for 34 years as well as several area nursing facilities. Mrs. Vieira enjoyed Atlantic City, dog races, Vegas and Florida.

Mrs. Vieira is survived by her sons; Joe Vieira and his late wife Kathleen of Nevada, and Michael Vieira and his wife Tammy of West Wareham. She was the grandmother of Jennifer and Marlene of New York, and a very special and much loved grandson Michael Vieira. She was also survived by five great- grandchildren and many loving relatives and friends.
