The Wareham Lodge of Elks named a Wareham High School student "Student of the Year" and gave savings bonds to several students from various schools on Thursday, May 13.

Students from Wareham, Bourne, Old Rochester Regional, Old Colony Vocational, and Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical high schools who had received "Student of the Month" honors at their respective schools were awarded the savings bonds.

"Student of the Year," Wareham High senior Kayla Vicino, received an extra savings bond for her honor.

The other Wareham High School bond-recipients included Jordan Benson, Joseph Gomes, Collin Antell, Jessica Dennis, Ashley Hathaway, Jessica Gadbois, Kelly Paling, and Joanna DaCunha.

The awards were presented by Elks Exalted Ruler Edgar Gerard Simoneau and State Rep. Susan Williams Gifford (R-Wareham).
