Emily L. (Pina) Viera, 58
Emily L. (Pina) Viera, 58, of Wareham, died April 6 at home. She was the wife of 13 years of Russell F. Viera. She was the daughter of Alice M. (Thatcher) Pina and the late Ralph Pina.
She was born in Wareham and lived there all of her life. She graduated from Wareham High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Curry College.
Mrs. Viera worked as a Human Resource Representative at Sippican/Lockheed Martin Corporation in Marion where she worked for 40 years.
She attended Church in the Pines in West Wareham. She was a member of the Board of Directors for the United Way from 2007 to 2013 and was also a loan executive there. She enjoyed family gatherings, exercising, vacationing and reading. She always looked on the other side of the coin.
Survivors include her husband, Russell F. Viera of Wareham; her mother, Alice M. (Thatcher) Pina of Wareham; her son, Hartmut Andrade, II and his wife Christine of Wareham; five sisters, Paulette Harris and her husband Richard of Las Vegas, Michelle Fernandes and her husband Paul of Wareham, Terry Lopes of Onset, Mary Ann Silva and her husband Jack of Wareham, and Roberta “Bobby” Baptiste of East Wareham; four brothers, Ralph “Bubba” Pina of Providence, Sylvester “Lester” Pina of Onset, James Pina and John Pina both of New Bedford; a stepson, Joshua Viera of Fairhaven; two stepdaughters, Sarah Fender and Leah Viera both of Onset; two grandsons, Hartmut Andrade, III and Cameron Silva; four step-grandchildren, Rebecca Viera, Matthew Taylor, Dylan Viera and Shane Fender; many nephews and nieces; a great niece. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert “Bobby” Andrews of Wareham.
Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 10 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Wareham.
Visiting hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
