Emma Roderick, 90, Stop & Shop cashier

Emma (Teixeira) Roderick, 90, died July 7 at her home in West Wareham unexpectedly. She was the widow of the late Julio P. Roderick. They were married 55 years.

Born in Wareham, she was the daughter of the late Fortunato & Josepha (Neves) Teixeira. She was employed as a cashier for Stop & Shop for many years.

Survivors include three sons, Julio “Rod” Roderick, Jr., and his wife Juliette of West Wareham, Michael Roderick of West Wareham, and Jonathan Roderick of Onset; her sister, Edith Canto of Taunton; six grandchildren, Paul Roderick and his wife Missy, Erika Roderick Boston and her husband Nelson all of N. Carolina, Kyle Roderick and his wife Monica of Marshfield, Dana Roderick of Wareham and Jessica Roderick and Darcy DeAngelis both of Onset; three great-grandchildren, Janessa, Brendon and Jaiclyn; two daughters-in-law, Nancy Roderick and Betty Roderick; her brother in-law, Paulino Rodrigues of Falmouth, and sister in-law Pauline Stevens of Pocasset. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, the late Frank and John Teixeira and her sisters, the late Anne Centrone and Mary Roderiques.

Her funeral will be Wed., July 11, 2012 from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours will be Tues. from 5 – 8 PM.
