FAMILY FUN AT PUBLIC SAFETY DAY!
Wareham's Summer of Celebration Public Safety Day on Sunday, July 13 from 1-5 pm at the Middle School will have fun activities for all ages! So mark your calendar now.
Smokey the Bear will be on hand along with emergency vehicles and members from police, fire, EMS and the Harbormaster who will demonstrate their skills and equipment. The emergency vehicles will be joined by military, construction and specialized trucks all available for touching in the Touch-A-Truck area.
Watch the beautiful and efficient K9 dogs in a demonstration by the Wareham Police Department and Plymouth County Sheriff's office. Then stop by the Jaws of Life exhibition presented by the Onset and Wareham Fire Departments. The Regional Technical Rescue Team is also coordinating a rappelling exhibition.
You don't want to miss the antique and modern fire trucks that will be on display in a separate area of the school yard. These gleaming beauties can be seen up close and owners and Department members will be on hand to explain the apparatus.
The Antique Hand Tub Fire Muster will allow visitors to join the teams as they pump away on the old machines to build up enough pressure for the hoses to fill and to see how far the water will shoot out! Learn first-hand what it was like to fight fires in times past while having a great time in the present with family and friends.
Finish the day by heading over to Spillane Field at 5 pm for the Vintage Baseball Game where the Hingham Coopers will take on the Bristol Blues playing like it was still 1860!
Food vendors and other exhibits will be available throughout the day. Don't miss this family-fun experience on a summer Sunday afternoon!
