On June 24, 2016 the Buzzards Bay Coalition held their Swim for the Bay event.  In this event approximately 240 swimmers swam 1.2 miles from the Edge Restaurant in New Bedford to Fort Phoenix beach in Fairhaven.  The swimmers and their friends and families raised an estimated $120,000 for the Coalition's mission of education and clean up of the Bay.   Registration opened at 5;30 A.M.

A film crew from Wareham Community Television woke up very very early that morning, packed up cameras, tripods and a kayak and arrived at sunrise to film the event, and its staff, volunteers, and swimmers.

The result was a program which will air on WCTV (Comcast channel 9 and Verizon channel 30) on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 1:30 P.M.; Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 1:00 PM; and Saturday August 20, 2016 at 5:00 P.M.
