Firefighters responded to a house fire at 191 Park Ave. in East Wareham shortly before noon on Sunday, Nov. 1.
Corey Smith, who lives nearby, said he heard emergency crews arriving and stepped outside to see what was happening. He took out his phone to record the fire.
Smith described seeing windows blow out and siding fall from the house as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
"It was a serious fire," he said, adding that he was impressed by the firefighters' response. "They showed up quickly."
Smith said he and his family had spoken with the residents the previous evening while trick-or-treating.
"I'm just glad everyone made it out okay," he said.
The cause of the fire and extent of the damage had not been confirmed as of press time. Wareham Fire Department officials were unvailable for comment Sunday afternoon.
