Flash flood warning expanded to Southeastern Massachusetts

Aug 13, 2014

The National Weather Service in Taunton has expanded a flash flood watch to include all of Southeastern Massachusetts from late Tuesday night into Wednesday evening.

Rain moving from west to east is expected for the entire region from early Wednesday, with heavy rains expected at times in the morning and to continue into the afternoon. The rain is expected to dissipate by early evening.

Thunderstorms are expected as well, with rainfall of over two inches per hour to be expected in some areas. With heavy rains comes the potential for urban and localized flash flooding, with small stream flooding possible as well.
