A fourth person has been arrested in connection with an East Wareham home invasion that occurred during the early morning hours of Thursday, May 17, and police are looking for a fifth man, considered to be armed and dangerous, who they believe to be involved.

Brian Santiago, 20, of Wareham was arrested around 2 a.m. on Tuesday in Savannah Georgia during a "planned bus trip," according to a Wareham Police statement.

Santiago will be extradited back to Wareham to answer to charges of home invasion, rape, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and larceny from a building, according to Wareham Police.

Wareham Police are still searching for a fifth suspect, 21-year-old Jordan JP Gomes, who police say is considered to be armed and dangerous. Gomes is described as a black male, approximately 6'2" to 6'3" tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds. He has brown eyes, black hair, and a mustache, according to police.

Anyone with information regarding Jordan JP Gomes is asked to call the Wareham Police Detective Division at 508-295-1206, or use the department anonymous Text-A-Tip program to send tips. To text a tip, send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES), begin the text with "WAREHAMPD," followed by the tip.

In addition to Santiago, charged in connection with the incident are:

  • Robert Brown, Jr., 18, of Onset
  • Justin Gomes, Jr., 17, of 294 Main Street, Wareham
  • Kendrick Williams, 18, of Wareham

Officers responded to Dana Lane at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Thursday and found that two women and one man had been assaulted and robbed at gunpoint by three to four masked men, according to a Wareham Police press statement.

The victims reported that the suspects forcibly entered the home, stole cash and jewelry, and assaulted the two women, according to Wareham Police. Police immediately searched the area for the intruders, but did not find them.

Brown, whose Onset address was not immediately released, and Williams, of 7 Water Street, were arrested roughly 12 hours after the incident during separate motor vehicle stops, police said.

Justin Gomes, Jr. was arrested at his apartment at approximately 8:30 p.m. on May 17, according to police.

The men were charged with armed home invasion, aggravated rape (two counts), assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, destruction of property in excess of $250, assault in a dwelling while armed, and possession of a firearm without a firearms identification (FID) card, according to police.

Police later executed a search warrant at Williams' home and recovered evidence related to the crime, according to a Wareham Police statement. A search of Gomes' home at the time of his arrest also revealed evidence, police said.

Brown was initially arrested for trafficking and possession of a "Class B" substance (Percocet pills) and later charged with his involvement in the home invasion, police said.

Wareham Police detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.

A Wareham District Court dangerousness hearing for some of the suspects is currently in progress. Wareham Week will update this story as information comes in.
