Free tick talk focused on preventing disease Sept. 9

Sep 1, 2017

The Wareham Land Trust and Wareham Garden Club will host “Deer Ticks: One Bite Can Change Your Life” on Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. in the Wareham Free Library.

This free event will feature a talk by Larry Dapsis, an entomologist with the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension.

This program will review the basic life cycle and ecology of deer ticks, incidence rates and distribution of tick-borne illnesses in addition to a database under development on infection rates of ticks. A three point protection plan will be presented: protect yourself, protect your yard and protect your pet.

Refreshments will be served.
