With a winter storm barreling towards Wareham, generators are a hot commodity.

Store associates at Home Depot, Aubuchon and Lowe’s Home Improvement reported that generators were out of stock at both stores on Wednesday, having sold out earlier in the day.

The National Weather Service reports that the town may receive up to 10 inches of snow tomorrow. Wind gusts up to 70 mph are in the forecast as well, likely causing widespread power outages.

A Lowe’s employee said generators will likely be back in stock by the middle of next week. A Home Depot employee said it’s unknown when that store will have the items back on the shelves.

An Aubuchon Hardware employee said the store sold out on Wednesday as well. Generators will be in stock there sometime next week.
