George A. Wentworth, 62, truck driver, U.S. Army veteran
George A. Wentworth, 62, died June 24 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was the husband of Gail B. (Allen) Wentworth.
Born in Boston, Mr. Wentworth was the son of the late Herman J. & Mabelle L. (Schick) Wentworth. Raised in Somerville, Mr. Wentworth was a longtime summer resident of Wareham before moving here year-round in 1999.
Mr. Wentworth was a truck driver for C.J. Mabardy in Cambridge. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. He served during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971.
Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Elisa M. Kraus of Salem, NH, Cara N. Meuse of Wendell, NC, and Katelyn A. Wentworth of Tewksbury; two brothers, Robert J. Wentworth and Paul K. Wentworth both of Wareham; two step-children, John Magee, IV of Wareham and Valerie Chambers of Taunton, and 10 grandchildren.
His funeral service will be held Monday, July 2, at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours were held Sunday.
