Guy Steven Campinha, 72
In Loving Memory of Guy Steven Campinha
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Guy Steven Campinha, on Monday, May 25, 2026 at the age of 72. Guy is survived by his son, Guy Steven Campinha Jr. of Wareham, his daughters Heather Gean Castro of New Bedford and Crystal Joy Campinha of Wareham. He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Campinha, his father, Jesse Campinha, and his little brother Jesse “Bubba” Campinha Jr. They were long time residents of Wareham. He leaves behind three brothers, six sisters, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Guy retired as Director of Wareham Water Pollution Control Facility.
Guy lived a full life and loved sharing his stories with everyone. He had a remarkable gift of storytelling and could captivate anyone with his memories, experiences, and sense of humor. We knew if he told us we were leaving in ten minutes, we would be there for another four hours. He lived his life unapologetically and with great enjoyment. He laughed easily, throwing his head back and laughing loudly in pure delight of the moment. Whatever our dad did, he did to the fullest. He had a passion for discovering new things and the unwavering pursuit of truth. This often resulted in emails to his local senators or the umpire commission if he thought a game was umpired unfairly.
A true lover of nature, Guy found peace and happiness outdoors, especially sitting on his porch with his two dogs, Kodiak and Lady Rose, staring out over the pond. We would often joke that his dogs were his favorite children. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed being out on the golf course at least once a week.
Above all else, he cherished his family. When he was surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, he was truly present and at his happiest. The memories he created, the lessons he shared, and the love he gave will remain in our hearts forever.
Though he will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy of kindness, love, and laughter will live on through all who knew him. We want to honor our dad’s wishes by throwing a celebration of his life, where we can share stories, laugh at his antics, and smile at the memories he left us with.
A celebration of life will be held at Warren’s Harborview on June 13th from 2pm to 6pm. Warren’s Harborview is located at 59 Main Street, Wareham, MA 02571.
