Hailey Jean Pease, 8
Hailey Jean Pease, of Wareham, died Thursday, July 28, 2011 at her home after a courageous battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She was 8 years old.
Born in Wareham, Hailey was the daughter of Shannon L. Maxim and Richard A. Pease, Jr. She celebrated her 8th birthday on July 18 and was set to enter the 2nd grade at Minot Forest Elementary School in September.
A “girly-girl”, Hailey loved to dress up and wear her high heels. She loved singing and dancing and loved all her family. Hailey was proud to have over 6000 friends on her Facebook page and was recently honored by the Wareham Board of Selectmen for her bravery while fighting her illness. While being treated at Children’s Hospital, Hailey had the opportunity to meet Selena Gomez through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Hailey is survived by her parents; her sister Mary Jane Woods of Wareham; her maternal grandparents, Mark Maxim of Onset and Sandra Empey of Middleboro and her paternal grandparents, Richard A. Pease, Sr. of Assonet and Deborah Pease Sylvia of Berkeley. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A celebration of Hailey’s life will be held on Tues., Aug. 2, 2011 at the Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene, 6 Rogers Ave., Wareham at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Agawam Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours will be Monday at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham from 4 – 8 PM.
