Health Van to visit Wareham
The Southcoast Hospitals Group Health Van is scheduled to visit Wareham on three dates this month.
On Saturday, October 9, the van will host a blood drive and health screenings at the Cranberry Harvest Celebration at Tihonet Village, 158 Tihonet Rd. The van will be there from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The next day, the van will offer the same services at St. Patrick's Church, on High Street, between 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
On Friday, October 29, the van will be running a blood drive at Tobey Hospital between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Free mobile health services available by the Southcoast Health Van Staff include:
- Cancer screenings & education.
- Blood pressure screening.
- Cholesterol screening
- Teen resource information
- Glucose (diabetes) screenings.
- Nutritional information and education.
- Health education services.
- Medical physician referral.
- Blood drives.
Please note that screenings and blood drives sponsored by the Southcoast Health Van are sometimes held at community locations and not always on the van. Look for signs when arriving at a location if you do not see the van outside. If you plan to donate blood, please remember to bring two forms of identification.
