BETHLEHEM, NH - Helen Hayward, 88, of Bethlehem, NH formerly of Wareham, died Saturday, November 19, 2022 at her daughter’s home in New Hampshire. She was the wife of the late Bruce E. Hayward.

Born in Wareham, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Alice (Pacheco) Santos. A lifelong resident of Wareham, she worked for Ocean Spray for many years. Mrs. Hayward moved to New Hampshire two years ago.

Mrs. Hayward was a member of the Improved Order of Red Men / Degree of Pocahontas in Wareham. She enjoyed playing BINGO and watching sports, especially the Patriots and Red Sox.

She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Davis of Bethlehem, NH, Jeanette Ford of Brockton and April Nightingale of Batavia, NY; her brothers, Albert Santos of W. Wareham and Joseph Santos of Wareham; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, the late Pamela Nightingale, and her brothers, the late Richard Santos, Charles Santos and Arthur Santos.

Her funeral will be from Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham on Thurs., Dec. 1, 2022 at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, 94 High St., Wareham at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be Wed. from 5 – 7 PM at the funeral home.
