History celebrated at Antiques Faire

Jul 5, 2015

Hundreds of people flocked to the village green on Main Street Saturday morning and afternoon to see some history, while celebrating our nation's history.

It was the 39th annual Wareham Historical Society Antiques Faire that drew in people from all over the area, to browse and buy all different kinds of historical items.

More than 20 vendors set up tables on the village green selling paintings, figurines, jewelry, pottery, furniture, house decorations, outdoor decorations and countless other interesting historical items.

After missing out last year due to inclement weather, the Antiques Faire returned this year, which is good news for the Historical Society, as the event is one of its biggest annual fundraisers.

In addition to the antiques for sale, the Historical Society was selling its own items, such as maps, calendars and mugs, inside the Methodist Meeting House across the street.

Across the street from the Meeting House, on Elm Street, was the Fearing Tavern, which is open from 1 to 4 p.m. during July and August.
