Just a few days before Christmas, families gathered at the Gleason Family YMCA to celebrate the season with hot chocolate, reindeer food and all the best holiday songs sung by student volunteers from the Wareham High School choir.
Michelle Pina attended with her daughter Jaycee, 5, who was certainly excited to hear the music.
Jaycee said her favorite festive song of all time is, “Run, Run Rudolph.”
Many of the children at the event, which took place on Saturday, Dec. 23, were antsy for Christmas day.
Jaycee said she was especially looking forward to opening her stocking.
Cordelia Delorie, 5, and her friend Faith Coste, 8, came to the YMCA with Michelle and Edward Delorie.
The two girls said they were enjoying the hot chocolate and cookies offered at the event.
Cordelia said she was looking forward to heading to Pennsylvania to visit with family for the holiday.
Michelle said this Christmas is extra special for her family because it is the first “official” year they are celebrating as a family now that their adoption is finalized.
She added the family was “very grateful” for the opportunity to spend Christmas together.
