Holiday Train on track for December return

Nov 14, 2014

Festive train rides from Wareham Village to Buzzards Bay (and back) will take place on Sunday, Dec. 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Tickets for the Wareham Village Association’s family friendly Holiday Train go on sale on November 28.  The train rides will depart every 90 minutes.

Families can sing along with Christmas carols and enjoy Christmas decorations and the company of elves while the train chugs along the track through Wareham. Afterwards, post-ride festivities will be available on Main Street.

“Of all the gifts under the tree, this simple and reasonably priced outing is the one that your children will remember,” said Bob Brady, president of the Wareham Village Association Board of Directors.

Tickets are $10 per seat, or $30 for a family four-pack. There is no charge for infants (under 2) sitting in an adult’s lap. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets will be available on Friday, November 28, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, November 29, from 9 a.m. to noon, at Eastern Bank on Main Street.

Any remaining tickets will be available beginning on “Cyber Monday,” December 1, online at warehamvillage.org. Details are also available at that website.

Proceeds from this fun event benefit the Wareham Village Association, a non-profit organization whose goal is to increase the vitality of the downtown area through events and advocacy.
