The annual Onset Illumination and Lantern Tour is set for Saturday, August 16 around Onset Bay and throughout Onset Village.

Dark, red flares will be placed along the perimeter of all of Onset Beach by volunteers, which will illuminate the Bay at 9 p.m. with a red glow that lasts approximately 30 minutes.

The event will be preceded by a marching band performance, which will go down Onset Ave at 7 p.m., and will continue at the Gazebo and on Onset Pier for about an hour.

“The whole Bay gets lit up,” said Eleanor Martin, one of the organizers for the event, which is put on by the Onset Bay Association.
