Injured woman from head-on crash identified as Wareham resident
Jocelyn Maniglia, 47, has been identified as the woman injured in a head-on collision on Minot Avenue on Monday, July 8.
A gray Toyota Highlander traveling east on Minot Avenue, driven by Wareham native Matthew Goodchild, collided head-on with a black GMC Sierra traveling west, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office.
Goodchild was transported to Tobey Hospital where he was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries. The driver of the GMC Sierra was transported to Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford with non life-threatening injuries, according to the District Attorney’s office.
A Go-Fund-Me organized by Shonna Calhoun states Maniglia was released from the hospital following the crash with leg injuries.
“While I am so thankful that her injuries were not worse, the ones she does have will prevent her from working for an unknown amount of time,” wrote Calhoun.
Maniglia is a horseback riding instructor who offers lessons at New Beginnings Stables and Harmony Farm, according to her Facebook page.
Calhoun states any money donated to the Go-Fund-Me will go to help Maniglia with her bills and with taking care of her horses.
Peace for All Animals, an East Wareham based animal shelter, posted the Go-Fund-Me along with a call for donations, saying, “Jocelyn has supported us for many years and now is in need of help herself.”
