Interstate 195 visitor center to open this weekend
The Cranberry Region Tourist Visitor Center on Interstate 195 in Wareham will open for the season this weekend.
Located at the highway rest area just before exit 21 to Wareham, the center will operate Fridays and Saturdays until Mid-may and then will be open seven days a week.
The major objective for Cranberry Region Center personnel is to promote local businesses by encouraging tourists to visit Wareham, Onset, and the cranberry region.
This will be the sixth year that the Town of Wareham Community and Economic Development Authority has sponsored the center, which was started by the former Cranberry Highway Association. Operated on a self sustaining budget, the center relies on income from advertising businesses and vending sales. Bruce Hutchins is the center’s coordinator and can be contacted for additional information at hutchinsbruce13@msn.com or by writing to C.E.D.A.
