Jacquelene V. (Halladay) McArdle, 96, of Reading, formerly of Wareham, died Jan. 17, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Norman and Mildred (Farwell) Halladay.

She was born in Hillsboro, NH and lived in Wareham for over 60 years before moving to Reading. She graduated from Hillsboro High School, the University of NH and received a M.Ed. from Bridgewater State College.

Mrs. McArdle was an elementary school teacher at Onset Elementary and Minot Forest Schools for 20 years before retiring. She later taught night and summer school.

She enjoyed a 20-year association with Wareham Tiger Football.

She was predeceased by her son Michael A. McArdle who is survived by his wife Jane of Mattapoisett. Survivors include her son W. Scott McArdle and his wife Tatyana of Bellmore, NY; 4 daughters, Barbara Rush of West Lake Ohio, Marilyn Fournier and her husband, Paris Mclean of Brockton, MA, Kathleen Daly and her husband Kevin of Stoneham, Melissa Goodell and her husband Douglas of Onset; a brother, Dr. ME. Halladay and his wife Andrea of Portsmouth, RI; 18 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. She was the sister of the late Norman Halladay. 

Visiting hours are from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. (Appropriate COVID-19 protocol will be observed including the use of face masks, social distancing and wait times in line due to temporary limited capacity.)
