James C. Gibbs, 97, of Dartmouth formerly of West Wareham, passed away Thursday June 9, at Sippican Health Care in Marion.

Born February 13, 1914 in Randolph, Vermont, he is the son of the late Carmi D. and Georgia M. (Atkins) Gibbs. He was husband of the late Ruth E. (Boutillier) Gibbs.

Gibbs is a former member of the Little Harbor Golf Club, Sippican Seniors, Masons – Warren Lodge AF/AM Amesbury and the Boston Consistory. He is a WWII Navy Veteran. Gibbs worked for many years a comptroller for the Lynd-Farquhar Co. of Natick.

He is survived by sister Rebecca Toggerson, a stepson, Brenton Youn, three stepdaughters: Janet Dennis, Jane Shea, and Sally Brock, and many loving relatives and friends.
