James E. Eldridge, 55

James E. Eldridge, 55, passed away at his home in Corbin, Ky. after a brief illness on March 26.  Jim was predeceased by his beloved mother, Marie Eldridge and by his step brother Dana Wicklund.

Jim grew up and went to school in Bourne, graduating from Bourne High School in 1976.

He worked for many years as a fish cutter at Capt. Harris' Fish Market in Buzzards Bay.  He then joined the Otis Fire Department, where he remained for many years, ending this portion of his career as a lieutenant. He relocated to Corbin, Ky. 15 years ago where he worked as a cross country truck driver.

He is survived by his three children, Amanda Eldridge of Chatham, Daniel Eldridge of Wareham and Tiffany Eldridge of Plymouth, as well as a young grandson, Asante Eldridge. He is also survived by his father, Robert Eldridge and step mother Karen of Bourne; his brothers Robert Eldridge Jr. of Bourne, Ronald Eldridge and his wife Patricia of St. Augustine, Fla.; his step sister Tara Warren of Bourne, as well as several nieces.  Jim also leaves his very dear friend, Lois Rice of Corbin, Ky.  His family will always be grateful for the care and comfort she provided to him both before and during his illness.

Burial will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
