James Johnson, 70
James Edward Johnson, 70, of New Bedford died March 17.
He was born in Wareham on Aug. 10, 1943, son of the late Alton and Mildred E. (Ritchie) Johnson.
He loved music, and had a large collection of records and CDs.
Survivors include his twin sister, Mildred E. Griffith and her husband, Richard of Wareham; a brother, Ronald B. Johnson of Reeds Spring, MO. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, whom he considered special people in his life.
He was the brother of the late Alton Johnson, Jr., Donald Johnson and Walter F. Johnson. He was the nephew of the late Dean B. Nickerson, with whom he worked in the trucking business in Wareham for several years as a young man. He also leaves his many friends at CMHS, Inc. who cared for him so well for so many years.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 21 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Wareham.
