James Q. Clemmey, 77

James Q. Clemmey, 77, of West Wareham, passed away Monday Dec. 9, at the Brockton, Va. Medical Center.  James was the companion of the late Carol M. Chase of Wareham.

He was born in Fall River, Mass. the son of the late James Q. and Honora (Kelleher) Clemmey.  James was a 1955 graduate of Providence Country Day School and he was also a graduated from Bryant College with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration.  A veteran, James served in U.S. Army during the Korean War.  James last worked for the J.L. Clemmey Co. Inc. He enjoyed Jazz, cooking, sailing and playing cribbage.  He was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd and in the communities of Marion and Wareham serving on various committees since the 1970s.

He is survived by his two sons; Ian Clemmey and his wife Elizabeth of Middletown, R.I. and Tim Clemmey and his wife Sharon of Greenfield Center, N.Y.  He was the brother of David and Karl Clemmey both of Mansfield.  He was the loving grandfather of Alex, Patrick and Samantha. A father and grandfather figure to Kimbal, Michael and Jeffery Chase, Michelle Blow, Betty Lancaster and Nicole Stone.  He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. James was the father of the late James Q. Clemmey III and brother of the late Andrew and John Clemmey.

His memorial service will be held on Friday Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. in the Church of the Good Shepherd 74 High Street Wareham, Mass.  Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.  Visitation with the family will be from noon until 1 p.m. prior to the service.  Burial will be private.   To leave a message of condolence for the family please visit www.warehamvillagefuneralhome.com Arrangements by Wareham Village Funeral Home 5 Center Street Wareham, Mass.
