Here are the results for the Jason J. Andrade Memorial Summer Basketball League playoffs:

Monday July 23rd, 2012

Division 1 Girls Semi-Finals

In Memory of Ann Marie Uva Storm, 10; In Memory of David Silva Sparks, 6

The Storm got shut out for the first 25 minutes of the game but rallied back late to take the win and move to the Division 1 Girls championship game. Isabella Roberge scored 7 points and Kendall Baptiste added 3 points for the Storm's offense.

The Sparks were outstanding on defense for most of the game but couldn't mount a sustained offensive attack. Ann Marie Luppino scored 4 points and Cienne Fernandes added 2 points as the team's season came to an end.

Team Onujiogu Mercury, 18; Salerno's Function Hall Sky, 12

Bailey Colon's 9 points led the Mercury past the Sky and into the Division 1 Girls championship game. Amalia Santos had 3 points while Tieyanna Yancey, Tiara Duarte and Jasmyn Onujiogu scored 2 points apiece.

Maggie Robbins scored 8 points to lead the Sky's offense. Reign Fernandes and Sasha Miceli added 2 points each as the Sky fell short to end their season.

 

Division 1 Boys First Round

J & M Realty Hornets, 51; Shirt Shack Bulls, 50

The sixth seed Hornets stunned the third seeded Bulls and advanced to the Division 1 Boys semi-finals behind 20 points from Nick Pavilonis and 13 points from Matt Pires. Anthony Gomes had 10 points and Michael McAllister added 8 points.

The Bulls got 18 points from Jamual Sims and 16 points from Alexx Rezendes. Ashantay Tavares hit for 8 points. Mason Lopes finished with 4 points. Naquan Young and Marcus Monteiro each had 2 points.

Marc Anthony's Bucks, 55; Narrows Crossing Restaurant Grizzlies, 43

The Bucks got a combined 49 points from Koby Andrade, Jovahn Thomas and John Thomas to push past the Grizzlies and advance to the Division 1 Boys semi-finals. Cameron Alden scored 4 points and Travis Johnston finished with 2 points.

Jonathan Warden scored 20 points to lead the Grizzlies. Chris Perry had 12 points while both Nick Perry and Josh Onujiogu scored 6 points.

Division 1 Boys Semi-Finals

Marc Anthony's Bucks, 55; Sweet D Lakers, 34

Despite playing just 5 players, the Bucks rolled to a huge win over the Lakers and a berth in the championship game. Jovahn Thomas scored a game high 26 points to lead the Bucks and Koby Andrade added 16 points. Travis Johnston added 7 points. John Thomas had 4 points and Cameron Alden chipped in with 2 points.

The Lakers got 11 points from Tyler Rondeau but couldn't keep up with the Bucks offense. Jared Yates and C.J. Merritt finished with 7 points each. Dyondre Dominguez added 4 points and Anthony Oliveira scored 3 points. Deion Debarros hit for 2 points.

Cotter Machine Company Thunder, 59; J & M Realty Hornets, 56

In a game that featured huge runs from both teams, the Thunder edged out the Hornets and grabbed a spot in the championship game. The Hornets opened up the game with a 19-2 run before the Thunder rallied to cut their halftime lead to just 1 point. Jahmal Silva (22 points) and Durell Barros (20 points) helped the Thunder build a 15 point lead late in the game before the Hornets got four straight three pointers from Damien Perry (22 points) to get within a point before the Thunder shut the door for good with one final basket.

For the Thunder, Sonny Fernandes added 7 points. Gregory Pina had 4 points and both Adrian Dugre and Robert Evans hit for 2 points.

The Hornets got 14 points from Michael McAllister and 13 points from Nick Pavilonis. Anthony Gomes had 5 points and Trey Miranda chipped in with 2 points.

Division 2 Boys Semi-Finals

Nana's Ice Cream Parlor Demon Deacons, 47; Cotter Machine Company Minutemen, 35

The Demon Deacons sealed their berth in the championship game behind 20 points from Dominic Mello and 13 points from Justin Lopes. Tyler Noe had 8 points, Avyn Lopes hit for 4 points and Rory Lydon finished with 2 points.

The Minutemen's Tony Lopez scored 12 points to lead the team while Taylor Carlson added 10 points. Davis McCain poured in 8 points. Desmond Powell scored 4 points and Charles McCain added a foul shot.

Silvia's Concession Runnin' Rebels, 40; Wareham Police Association Eagles, 26

The Runnin' Rebels were down early to the Eagles but behind 21 points from Seth Andrade they pulled away in the second half and advanced to the championship game. Beau Vasconcellos added 8 points and Joey Silvia had 5 points. Jackson Cote scored 4 points and Danny Minkle finished with 2 points.

The Eagles got 9 points from John Todd as their season came to an end. James Tobey added 7 points and Tyler Santos scored 4 points. Josh Debarros, Marquez Tobey and Bryce Fernandes each hit for 2 points.

 

Division 1 Girls Championship

Team Onujiogu Mercury, 23; In Memory of Ann Marie Uva Storm, 16

The Mercury got 8 points from Jasmyn Onujiogu and Tieyanna Yancey as they held off a late foul shooting binge by the Storm and captured the 2012 Jason J. Andrade Memorial Summer Basketball League Division 1 Girls Championship. Genevieve Phillips was credited with 3 points while Bailey Colon had 2 points. Amalia Santos and Tiara Duarte each added a foul shot.

The Storm's Isabella Roberge, Jillian Mello, Amber Borden and Jala Yates scored 4 points apiece as the team fell just short of victory.

 

Division 1 Boys Championship

Cotter Machine Company Thunder, 59; Marc Anthony's Bucks, 46

The Thunder captured the 2012 Jason J. Andrade Memorial Summer Basketball League Division 1 Boys championship and capped off their perfect season with 20 points from Jahmal Silva and 16 points from Durell Barros. Sonny Fernandes added 13 points and Gregory Pina-Francis scored 6 points. Adrian Dugre and Robert Evans hit for points apiece.

The Bucks fell behind early and could never quite catch up. Koby Andrade scored 17 points to lead their offense. John Thomas had 15 points and Jovahn Thomas added 12 points. Geoff Cardoza finished with 2 points.

Division 2 Boys Championship

Nana's Ice Cream Parlor Demon Deacons, 39; Silvia's Concession Runnin' Rebels, 31

The Demon Deacons pulled away late in the 2nd half to capture the 2012 Division 2 Boys Championship over the Runnin' Rebels.

Justin Lopes scored a game high 16 points to lead the Deacons. Dominic Mello had 9 points while both Tyler Noe and Vincent Silva Pierce added 6 points.

The Runnin' Rebels led early in the second half but couldn't build on the lead to hold off the Demon Deacons. Seth Andrade's 11 points led the team. Danny Minkle and Kaemen Thomas scored 6 points apiece and Beau Vasconcellos added 2 points.
