Southcoast Health announced its 2018 Volunteers of the Year, including Wareham’s Jean Alves.

She was named Tobey Hospital’s 2018 Volunteer of the Year and has been volunteering since 2011. During that time, she has volunteered more than 1,900 hours at the hospital’s Patient Information Desk. She has been retired for several years now and said she is committed to giving back to the community in which she was born and raised.  

“From greeting visitors at our main entrances to working in administrative offices to singing for patients in their homes, our volunteer of the year award winners reflect the breadth and spirit of all 500 of Southcoast Health’s wonderful and essential volunteers,” said Jack Dresser, senior vice president and Chief Philanthropy Officer of Southcoast Health.
