Joel Whitney Chandler, 87, the beloved father of Lori Benson of Onset, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015, in the Vermont Respite House following a short illness.

Chandler was born in Plattsburgh, New York, Aug. 4, 1927, the son of Charles Orr and Emma (Dibble) Chandler, grew up in the Canadian border town of Mooers, N.Y., and raised his family in South Burlington, Vermont.
