John J. Green, 70, of Wareham, died August 22, in the Tufts New England Medical Center, Boston. He was the husband of Jayne L. (McGowan) Green and the son of the late Alan and Carmella (Montagna) Green.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Wareham for many years.

Mr. Green worked in retail management for T.J. Maxx in Falmouth for many years before retiring.

He enjoyed golfing. He was a former member of the Bertocci Memorial Club in Brockton.

Survivors include his widow; Jayne L. (McGowan) Green; 3 daughters, Ruth Ann DeJesus of Jackson, NJ; Toniann Andersen of Staten Island, NY, Tracy Green-Dekkers of Buzzards Bay; a son, Michael J. Green of Salem, NH; a brother, Alan Green of Ft. Meyers, FL; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. He was the father of the late John J. Green, Jr. who died in 1975.

His funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
