John Neely, 98, of West Wareham, died Sunday, March 22 at Kindred Transitional Care at Forestview in Wareham. He was the husband of the late Annie Frances (O’Neill) Neely.

Born in Co. Derry, Northern Ireland, he was the son of the late John Jackson and Mary Jane (Anderson) Neely. He immigrated to Canada from Northern Ireland in 1957 before coming to the United States in 1960. He was a previous resident of Scituate, Hanover and Pembroke before moving to Wareham 40 years ago.

Mr. Neely was a body shop foreman for Plymouth and Brockton Bus Lines for many years. He was a member of the former Orphans Hope Masonic Lodge A.F. and A.M. in Weymouth and a member of the Aleppo Shriners.

Mr. Neely is survived by his daughter, Marlene O’Toole of W. Falmouth; his son, John “Dudley” Neely of Carver; seven grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, the late Smith Neely.

Funeral services and burial will be private.
