Jonathan Allen Orander, 33, of New Bedford, a loving husband and father of four daughters, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021. He was born on November 23, 1987 in Petersburg, Virginia. 

Jon graduated from Wareham High School where he played football and broke records running for the track team. After high school, he then went on to play semi-pro football for the South Coast Outlaws. Jon then received his Class A CDL license and worked in construction.  

On November 23, 2017, he married Marybeth Ayotte. Jon's friendly, infectious and happy-go-lucky personality always captured new friends wherever he went. Jon was a jack of all trades and never hesitated to help someone who needed it. Jon loved to go fishing and was always up for spur of the moment adventures. 

He is survived by his wife, Marybeth Ayotte, and daughters Abigail, Lydia, Charlotte, and Marian all of New Bedford; his mother, Cassandra Orander of E. Wareham, his father, Jonathan Goines of Meadowview, VA; his sister Rachael Orander; his brother Nicholas Gutzman, and grandmother Bonnie Daus.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from  9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  (Appropriate COVID-19 protocol will be observed including the use of face masks, social distancing and wait times in line due to temporary limited capacity.)  A private funeral service will follow.
