Joseph J. Tracey, 96, of Buzzards Bay, passed away September 4.

Joseph was the husband of Betsey (LaChapelle) Tracey of Buzzards Bay. Joseph was born in Easton, the son of the late Joseph W. and Jane (Brophy) Tracey. He attended Easton Public Schools and was a World War II Navy and USMC veteran.

Joseph was a railroad engineer and worked most of his life for the New Haven and Hartford Line. An avid reader and storyteller, he adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joseph is also survived by his children: Joseph Tracey of Abington, Robert Tracey and George Tracey both of Brockton, and Regina Hapgood of Buzzards Bay. He is the brother of Helen Copeland of Taunton. He is the grandfather of Jospeh Coelho and Georginna Coelho, and great-grandfather of Malachi, Orsiris, Naia, Lillyanna, and Eligah. He is the father of the late Charles Tracey and Michael Haskell; brother of the late Mary Elliot, Margaret Jones, Katherine Grasso, Nancy Lorden, John, George and Thomas Tracey. He was the grandfather of the late Richard Coelho Jr.

Services were held on September 11.
