Jr./Sr. Cooperative High School joins the game
The Wareham Jr./Sr. Cooperative High School’s middle school-aged boys basketball team played their second game last Thursday, scoring 30 points to Old Rochester Regional’s 57.
Though they did not come out on top, Wareham persevered until the buzzer ended the game.
The team, which is new to the school this year, was started by students who enjoyed playing basketball in their physical education class, according to Cooperative School principal and coach Scott Palladino.
Eight of the school’s 12 middle school-aged students play on the team. They do not make cuts, so everyone gets the opportunity to play, Palladino said.
"We have seen a tremendous change in attitude since we started the program," Palladino said.
The team's next game is Tuesday, January 26, at 3:30 p.m. at Fairhaven Middle School.
