Julia R. Sgaragli, 86

Julia R. (DeAngelis) Sgaragli, 86, of West Wareham, died March 17, at home. She was the widow of the late Raymond V. Sgaragli and the daughter of the late Eugene and Antoinette (Alberino) DeAngelis.

She was born in New Haven, CT, and lived in Milford, CT, before moving to Wareham in 1994.

Mrs. Sgaragli met her husband in 1950, while vacationing on the Island of Capri, Italy. They were married in St. Peter’s Cathedral in the Vatican Basilica. On their 50th wedding anniversary, she and her husband renewed their vows at St. Peter’s Cathedral in the Vatican Basilica.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church. She enjoyed bowling, playing BINGO, and trips to Foxwoods Casino. She was a volunteer at Tobey Hospital.

Survivors include her son, Raymond Sgaragli and his wife, Patricia, of Wareham; a granddaughter, Angelica Sgaragli of Wareham; 2 brothers, Albert DeAngelis of Torrington, CT, and Eugene DeAngelis of Trumbell, CT.

Her funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 22, from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham.

Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.

Visiting hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
