Kaleidoscope hosts Kenpo Karate exposition

May 24, 2011

Martial artists from Kaleidoscope of Dance in West Wareham and Tumble Time in Bourne came together for the 2nd annual Asian American Kenpo Karate exposition on Saturday, May 21.

Nearly 150 spectators gathered at Kaleidoscope to watch the 75 participants demonstrate self-defense techniques, such as blocks, punches, and kicks.

“Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves,” said Instructor Shihan French. “It gives students an opportunity to see that what they're doing expands beyond their program.”

The athletes participating in the event ranged from age four to 45-years-old. French said. It takes two or three weeks for the participants to prepare their routine for the exposition.
