Karen E. Douglas-Leary, 65
Karen E. Douglas-Leary, 65, of Ocklawaho, Florida passed away unexpectedly at home on Oct. 22.
Previously of Carver and Wareham, she was born in Taunton on March 16, 1951 to Donald Manter Douglas and Margaret A. (Grassie).
She is survived by her loving husband Hank, her mother Margaret Golemo, four sisters, Donna Mattos, Pamela Douglas, Cynthia Rice and Lisa Ward; four brothers, Donald S. Douglas, Michael Douglas, Steven A. Golemo and Robert N. Golemo and several aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her loving father Donald M. Douglas predeceased her in 2012 and her older sister Joann Hardee of California.
Be it known she knew and loved the Lord.
She loved her pets deeply, Georgia, Jackie, Cooper, Molly and Wild Girl, and those whose passing hurt her heart, Pete her parrot, “Tigger” who did teach her to love cats too and Tommy Kitty, her special one.
Early on Karen had a love for music and singing. She played with the bands Breezer and Freestyle as well as A Touch of Class in and around the Cape Cod area. Karen was very artistic, loved drawing and sketching (she got that from her father).
Most of all she was talented and fearless, never knew the word “can’t” because she always “did”!
The many lives Karen touched will forever be changed and she will always be remembered.
