Kathleen M. McNamara, 60
WAREHAM – Kathleen Marie (Goodhue) McNamara, 60, of East Wareham passed away at home on Feb. 6, 2023. She was the loving wife of David McNamara for 28 years. She was the daughter of the late Daniel E. Goodhue, Jr., and Barbara (Jones) Geloran.
Kathy was born in Stoughton, grew up in Halifax, and graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School in Kingston. She moved to Wareham where she lived and worked most of her life. Some may remember her from her years at Benny’s, working there up until they closed, and most recently at Tractor Supply.
Known lovingly as Kathy, Auntie Kath, Katha, Mom, and to her grandchildren she was Umma, which she cherished most of all. Her favorite pastime was walking on the beach with her husband and their dog, Buddy. She loved to crochet and made many blankets for her family and loved ones. She also enjoyed reading, puzzles, card games, sunsets, and could often be found on the sidelines rooting for local sports teams or watching the Red Sox. Many of those she worked with over the years became like family and they even called her “Ma.”
Kathy is survived by her husband, David McNamara; 3 daughters, Kristine Sprague of Pawtucket, RI and her husband Robert Christopher, Amy Labbe and her husband Evan of Plymouth, and Amanda Ewins and her husband Ryan of Tulare, CA; 6 grandchildren, Jordan and Hayley Christopher, Danielle and Kaiden Labbe, Jameson and Calvin Ewins; her siblings, Billy Goodhue of Boston, Paul Goodhue of Plymouth, Cheryl Slaven of Pembroke, and Michelle Goodhue of East Wareham; her stepfather of many years Anthony Geloran of Pembroke, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Linda Lewis, Steven Goodhue, and Kevin Goodhue.
A celebration of her life will be held from 4-8pm on Friday, February 17th at the Wareham-New Bedford Lodge of Elks, 2855 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
