Kayak raffled, fundraising continues for Onset Blues Festival

Jul 14, 2013

The bands are booked, a kayak has been raffled, and the fundraising continues for the Onset Bay Association's 21 annual Blues Festival, scheduled for Saturday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Band Shell in Onset Village.

Featured performers are John Nemeth, Mr. Nick and the Dirty Tricks, Gracie Curran and the High Falutin' Band with Lynda Warren, Wolf & the Jam Daddies, The Clayton-Restaino Blues Project, Splash of Blues, and Mark T. Small.

Josie Steward of Hanson was the lucky winner of a Zydeco kayak, raffled on July 6 before the annual Onset-Wareham fireworks display. The boat was donated by Bananas of East Wareham to benefit the Blues Festival.

In other blues news, Mayflower Bank representatives recently announced that the bank would be the main sponsor of the festival for the 8th consecutive year.

But organizers still need help.

Additional sponsors and advertisers for the festival's program book are needed, as well as volunteers and food and craft vendors.

To sponsor, advertise, volunteer, or become a vendor, contact Kat Jones at 508-725-2657 or tadasanakat@gmail.com, or Bill Lockwood at 508-221-1843 or lockwoodarch@comcast.net.

Blues Festival tickets cost $20. To purchase online and for more information about the event, visit www.onsetbluesfestival.com.
